In Deutschland sind viele Frauen und Männer freiwillig bei der Feuerwehr. Sie arbeiten nicht bei der Feuerwehr und müssen daher erst über tragbare Alarm Melder gerufen werden.
Die wird im Landkreis München entweder über den Alarm Melder, den jede Feuerwehrfrau oder Feuerwehrmann zuhause hat oder über Sirenen alarmiert.
Der Ton der Sirenen dauert nur ein paar Sekunden und kann auch mal nachts, wenn alle schlafen, losgehen.
Einmal im Monat, an einem Samstag, werden die Sirenen getestet, damit diese dann auch wirklich funktionieren wenn die Feuerwehr ausrücken muss. Wenn ihr den Ton der Sirene hört – es besteht keine Gefahr für euch.
Solltet ihr einen Brand entdecken oder jemand Hilfe brauchen und die Feuerwehr kommen muss – wählt am Telefon die 112.

How is the fire department alerted?
In Germany there are many volunteers firewomen and firemen. They don’t work at the fire department therefore they need to be called out through mobile alarm signal devices.
In the greater district of Munich, all can be alerted with these devices that each fire-woman and fireman own or with the fire sirens.
The sound of the sirens only lasts a few seconds and can also ring during the night when everyone is asleep.
Once a month, on a Saturday, all the sirens are tested to check if they really work in order to allow the firemen to go and hit the road when needed. When you hear the sound of the sirens there is no danger for you.
